Building Blocks

Building Blocks are homes and buildings made in our factory as modules. Each one leaves the line 99% complete, with the frame, insulation, glazing, services and linings fitted. A house goes up in 1 day on site.

Why Building Blocks

  • Built from the steel, glass, glass wool and fibres our Cells make.
  • Almost all of the work happens in the factory, so a house goes up in 1 day on site.
  • Every plan uses the same parts, so each new layout is ready to build on the tooling we already have.

How a Block Is Made

1 day on site
The Blocks arrive 99% complete. They are craned onto the subframe, bolted together and connected to services in a day.
Level to 2 millimetres
The roll former cuts, punches and labels every frame member. Walls are assembled flat at bench height, and every circuit and pipe is tested before the Block leaves.
200 site hours instead of 2,000
The bathroom arrives as a pod, already water tested. It takes one crane lift and two connections.
Clear of the ground
One machine drives the screw piles and fixes the subframe before the Blocks arrive, so the house stands clear of the ground from day 1.
Our own materials
The frame, glass, insulation, cladding and boards come from Terraform Cells, so the price of the building follows the price of solar power.
One digital model
A single model produces the cut files, wiring schedules and approval documents for every house, so the engineering is done once.

High-performance glazing and glass wool insulation keep the house comfortable all year, and Terraform Air heats and cools it through a fan coil in each room. Clip-on facades hang straight onto the Blocks, already finished.
